NHL Eastern Conference Odds Power Rankings: Maple Leafs Rising

There’s an imbalance in the NHL’s conferences, as the East has proved superior this season.

Below are the current favorites to win the Eastern Conference on the FanDuel Sportsbook.

1. Boston Bruins (+210) (Last Week: +240) 

The Boston Bruins became the first team in the NHL to clinch a playoff berth, and in addition, they’ve also seen their odds to win the Eastern Conference bet down from +240 to +210. 

2. Toronto Maple Leafs (+500) (Last Week: +500)

There wasn’t an odds shift for the Toronto Maple Leafs to make them rise to own the second-shortest odds to win the East, but they’ve remained at +500 and are a formidable threat in the conference. 

2. Carolina Hurricanes (+550) (Last Week: +450)

The biggest reason the Carolina Hurricanes saw their odds to win the East drop from +450 to +550 is that one of their key forwards, Andrei Svechnikov suffered an injury and is now out for the year. 

4. New Jersey Devils (+600) (Last Week: +650) 

With points in eight of their past ten games, the New Jersey Devils are challenging for the Metropolitan division title, which has seen their Eastern Conference odds rise from +650 to +600. 

5. New York Rangers (+650) (Last Week: +750)

It appears the post-deadline rut from the New York Rangers has ended. They’ve won two straight games and have seen their East odds bet down from +750 to +650 over the last week. 

6. Tampa Bay Lightning (+750) (Last Week: +800)

Much like the Rangers, the Tampa Bay Lightning have broken out of their recent slump and picked up two straight victories. After winning the East in three consecutive years, the Lightning have seen their odds increase again from +800 to +750. 

7. Pittsburgh Penguins (+1700) (Last Week: +1900)

The Pittsburgh Penguins have quietly remained in the hunt as the top wild-card team in the East. Despite losing two in a row, they still sit at 6-3-1 over their past ten and have seen their odds bet down from +1900 to +1700. 

8. Florida Panthers (+3100) (Last Week: +3100)

There still isn’t a lot of positivity surrounding Florida as they sit on the outside of the playoff picture looking in, but there’s a path there for them to still make noise in the East. 

9. New York Islanders (+4000) (Last Week: +4000)

With the Florida Panthers right on their tail and having two games in hand, the New York Islanders need to continue playing good hockey, which they have been of late with a 6-3-1 stretch. 

10. Washington Capitals (+11000) (Last Week: +10000) 

They aren’t entirely dead in the water yet, but the Washington Capitals haven’t done themselves any favors. Sitting five points back of a playoff spot, the Caps have their work cut out for them, and their longshot odds of +11000 reflect that.
